Fitness Center To Replace Bingo Hall In Liverpool
The bingo industry in the United Kingdom may be thriving in various British counties, but this may not necessarily be the case in Liverpool. According to news reports, a popular bingo hall in Liverpool is soon to become the venue for a fitness center. A fairly good number of the locals who are bingo enthusiast are not at all happy with this decision and are hoping that the plans for the fitness center will not go through.
The bingo hall in question is the Buckingham Bingo hall which was closed down for business. The bingo hall now stands empty and is being considered for a venue for a fitness club by Dave Whelan, who ia football chairman of the Wigan Athletic team. Whelan is a big name in the sports industry and the fact that he was a reputed footballer back in his time and is chairman of the team has only added to the hype behind the new gym.
The area chosen by Whelan to setup the company was formerly an old bingo hall and the locals where in the hope that another bingo hall would begin. Upon realizing that it was a gym that would be replacing their old favourite bingo hall, many locals from the neighborhood were very disappointed. One reason for this could be that the old Buckingham Bingo venue attracted a lot of players who were in their sixties or older. These players may not be very enthusiastic about a new gymnasium even if it is a venture by David Whelan. However, it is too soon to say anything considering the gym is still in its planning stages!
