Gala Bingo Continues Calling Numbers While Woman Has Heart Attack

Recent reports of a bingo caller at a Gala Bingo hall in Brighton who never stopped calling numbers even after a woman collapsed there with a probable heart attack, has shocked the bingo community. Witnesses noticed the same and reported the incident. An ambulance was arranged at Gala Bingo, but their staff at Brighton kept on calling numbers even while this was happening.

Joanne Wheeler aged 43, collapsed at 7:30 pm in the evening while the second game was on. One of the customers shouted but people thought that the customer had called out “house”. Most of the bingo players asked the caller to stop and some of them did not like what happened and have sworn off Gala Bingo forever. The woman who collapsed was unconscious and required medical attention. It was arranged for her to be taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Although players asked the caller to stop the game while the woman affected was being examined, but were told that this was policy and hence the staff continued to announce the numbers.

A company spokesperson for Gala Bingo, from Coral their parent company said that they always care for their customers and that it was a duty. The spokesperson also mentioned that the game was continued so that a crowd did not accumulate around the victim. Despite this, Gala Bingo states that their priority is the customer and that they have always cared for the customer. They stated that the game was kept on in order to keep the crowd’s attention and from the victim being crowded and surrounded.
