Megabucks Bingo Raises Funds For Cancer Research
Megabucks Bingo is where people come to play bingo and help raise funds for good causes. This bingo hall has been helping support and raise funds for a good number of charitable groups and organizations. In
And, the most recent cause was the American Prostate Cancer Research Fund, for which Megabucks Bingo helped raise the big bucks. Sandra Burke, the executive Director of the American Prostate Cancer Research Fund, appeared to be very happy with the amount raised by Megabucks Bingo.
The proceedings so made through Megabucks Bingo cover all costs at APCRF. “Bingo has always been tied to charities but there were some that just didn’t do right and it hurt the reputation of bingo,” Burke said. “I have two bosses, always pulling me this way or that, the Secretary of State and the gaming commission,” she added.
To start a charity for such a noble cause is not easy and bingo was an answer. It was three years till things started heating up at Megabucks Bingo, but it wasn’t until Levy hired Burke, that things actually took shape. Burke stated that she had further plans to open more funding avenues through bingo to help support such noble causes.
Sandra Burke is new to her post and has several reasons, both personal and monetary to become a dedicated and strong force for the organization. “I’m not going to do anything that I don’t have a passion for, and I believe I can make a difference and save lives,” Burke said. She has a prior experience in several NGOs for the last 35 years.
Burke also understands the disease of prostate cancer very well and realizes its effect on families as her father had been afflicted with it. “I knew my father was sick. Men don’t like to get tested and then in their 60s they find out they have prostate cancer. They could have gotten tested in their 40s and saved their lives,” she said.
