Youngsters Steal £24K From Bingo Hall
In the UK, there are many people who love playing a game of bingo, as it involves getting together with people over an entertaining and rewarding game. The bingo industry in the UK is also known to provide several job opportunities to the young and old. Unfortunately, some of them misuse their positions and end up stealing from the bingo hall.
After an alcohol infused holiday in Amsterdam, a couple of 20 year old boys are now whiling their time in a young offender’s institute. The reason for this is because they had stolen £24,000 from a UK Bingo Hall.
19 year old Liam Knights, stole £24,000 from a Bingo Hall where he had worked in as a treasurer. After taking the money he hightailed it to Amsterdam on a two week drug filled vacation with his friend Leon Jones. Both of them were arrested in the airport when they came back to their hometown.
Alisha Kaye, prosecuting solicitor mentioned that the men had indulged in robbery just for the sake of the trip where the money was spent on luxury hotels and cannabis.
According to the defense counsel, both the boys were not ill natured and had intentions of joining the army. They had handed themselves in to the Dutch police after comprehending the serious nature of the felony that they had committed. The defense counsel also mentioned that it was an unbelievably stupid jaunt.
Knights was punished with 15 months of detention at a young offender institution and Jones was told that he had come “perilously close” to a same punishment but was put to nine months detention in a young offender institution and suspended for 18 months with overseeing and 100 hours of paid work.
